Recruiting

We always strive for a small group face to face professional networking experience, but every group needs a critical mass to be successful.  Over time we have lost several members due to assorted personal reasons such as career changes, retirements, moving out of the area, new time conflicts and the “black hole”.   Sometimes when members get new jobs, they get so absorbed in the job, they neglect all of their professional networking activities.    We’ve all been subject to this phenomenon.    We are not a “job-seeker” group per-se,  but members from time-to-time do have a focus on finding new employment.  The recession has been hard on all of us.   There have recently been a number of members that have successfully found jobs out of the San Francisco Bay Area.   We congratulate them, but will miss them at our regular meetings.    We remain quite Silicon Valley centric.

The Council has decided to make a concerted effort to recruit new members.  We are using social media such as Craigslist, Facebook, Meetup as well as various professional networking newsletters and websites (e.g. WorkIt) to advertise our association.  We are already getting interest outside of our regular networking circles which is great.

We think we support a successful professional networking environment.  Looking forward to meeting some new candidates for the association.   If you are interested in ManagerEdge, please join us at our next meeting.
